Hi Michael, thanks for this inspiring entry. I love that the presence of pastry chefs on the web is becoming more prominent (old news in Japan :). It gives me the drive to experiment and learn new techniques along the way.

Food plating and architecture seem very different, but yet they blend together very well!

Great post and strong points on the similarities of food and architecture. I left food for structural steel and this post is helping me 'feel' a bit more at home!

    Thanks,

Hi Michael, I'm a designer who dabbles in cooking and baking. I never quite thought about parallelisms between architecture and cooking but it does amaze me how related they are, and on so many levels. Thank you for an eye-opening read with a tempting recipe!

Catching up on old posts and came across this today. You might enjoy checking out the Emerging Voices lecture series given by the Architectural League. Last night's lecture had me thinking along parallel lines.
    cheers.
